I'm Lee Joven, a Year 3 student in the Diploma in Integrated Facility Management. When my Careperson, Mr. Patrick Phang, told me about the financial assistance that is available, I was initially sceptical. But receiving the Wan Fook Kong Scholarship for 2022 and 2023 has been life-changing for me.

Before this scholarship came into my life, my self-confidence was in tatters. The environment was fiercely competitive, and it felt like I was always falling behind. However, receiving this scholarship not only boosted my confidence but also gave me academic recognition. It motivated me to work even harder, proving that my efforts weren't in vain.

Financially, the impact has been monumental. My parents have always worked hard to make ends meet, and this scholarship took a massive weight off their shoulders. For the first time, I had the freedom to explore opportunities I never could've considered before. I managed to go on an overseas study trip to Hong Kong and even took on unpaid internships and research positions in my field. This experience has been invaluable for my professional growth and skill development.

But it's not just about me. This scholarship has instilled in me a newfound sense of responsibility. I feel compelled to give back, and I intend to start by volunteering in my community.

I can't thank Mr. Wan Fook Kong enough for his overwhelming generosity. His scholarship hasn't just improved my academic standing—it's enriched my life in countless ways and eased the financial strain on my family. Seah Moon Ming Scholar

I'm Beng Liat, a proud TP alumnus with a Diploma in Aerospace Electronics with Merit and the course silver medal to my name. When I stumbled upon the financial assistance options on TP's website, little did I know that The Seah Moon Ming Scholarship would transform my life so profoundly.

Before receiving this scholarship, the balance between financial strain and academic achievement was always a tough act. But the scholarship allowed me to concentrate not just on my grades but also on becoming a well-rounded individual. I got involved in the Temasek LEADership Programme and even had the life-altering opportunity to study abroad in Korea and Vietnam. In Vietnam, I found myself not just learning but leading—facilitating crucial cross-cultural conversations among my classmates and local students.

The pandemic brought about its own set of challenges. Virtual classes became a nightmare due to my laptop's faulty camera. But thanks to the scholarship, I was able to invest in better equipment. This seemingly small change had a big impact, allowing me to engage actively in my online classes.

I view this scholarship not as a handout but as an investment in my future. It propelled me to push the boundaries in my studies, fostered leadership skills and instilled a sense of responsibility that I couldn't ignore. Today, I'm giving back. I'm actively involved in Youth Corps Singapore and Zero Waste Singapore, contributing to the betterment of my community and the world.

I can't thank Mr. Seah Moon Ming enough for his remarkable generosity. The scholarship did more than fund my education; it gifted me purpose and a growth mindset that will serve me well in my ongoing educational journey.

I'm Nur Syakirah Bte Abdul Rahman, a grateful alumna of the Diploma in Apparel Design and Merchandising at TP. My first year was marked by an unimaginable hardship—my dad suffered a heart attack, and my mum was diagnosed with a mild stroke. Overnight, our family's financial stability crumbled like a house of cards.

In the depths of this despair, while I frantically searched for ways to ease the financial burden on my ailing parents, TP's website offered me a glimmer of hope in the form of financial assistance options. The pressure I felt, the fear that I was adding to my parents' burdens, was affecting my academic performance. But when the financial aid came through, it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I could finally breathe and refocus on my studies.
