Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) for Working Adults

Working adults (Singapore Citizens and Singapore PRs) with at least two years of relevant work experience may participate and submit their application through Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) for Working Adults.

 

The Early Admissions Exercise for Working Adults (EAE WA) is only open to working adults with work experience. Current enrolled students who wish to apply to a different full-time diploma course with a different polytechnic, should apply through the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE).

Online Application: Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) portal.

Applicants may select up to three courses in order of their preferences in their online applications. They are also required to provide a 600 characters write-up for each choice to detail their course-specific aptitude and interest.

Walk-in, email and telephone applicants will not be accepted by MOE or the polytechnics.

Applicants may also provide a write-up of not more than 1000 characters on their participation in activities (e.g. CCA), achievements and leaderships qualities in the ''Other Achievements/Talent'' page within the online application.

Applicants are also required to provide details of their current/last job employment. For each job employment, applicant need to provide the job description. Applicant may enter up to 2000 characters. If applicant has other professional qualification/certification or experience, he/she may also indicate in the “Working Experience” page within the online application.

  • Soft copy of the ‘Application Record’ (applicant may download a copy of application record after submission of application through online applicant portal)
  • A copy of Singapore NRIC (front & back),
  • A copy of Malaysia NRIC (for SPR with Malaysia nationality) or Passport (for SPR with other nationality),
  • A copy of GCE ‘O’ and/or ’A’ Level results slip (all sittings), where applicable
  • A copy of ITE certificate and transcript
  • Other results slips e.g. local polytechnics/universities, LASALLE College of the Arts, NAFA, where applicable
  • Letter from CMPB or unit stating ORD date or approval letter for NS disruption (applicable to males [Singapore Citizen/SPR] who are currently serving NS)
  • Other testimonials or supporting documents such as employer recommendation or employment letter, if applicable.

Note: Applicants may apply up to 3 course choices. All documents submitted are non-returnable.

The polytechnics will call up shortlisted applicants for further assessment, such as interviews and / or aptitude tests from 1 Jul 2024 to 27 Aug 2024.

 

Selection Process
 

Working adults who would like to be considered for admission via the Polytechnic EAE will generally need to have at least two years of relevant work experience. They will need to submit employment records together with their application, as well as employer recommendations, where available.
 

The polytechnics will holistically assess applicants' work experience to determine the relevance of the competencies and skills gained over the course of their work to their course of interest.
 

Applicants who are found suitable, but whose past academic grades do not meet the MERs, will be given an opportunity to demonstrate that they have acquired the pre-requisite competencies for their chosen course through supplementary assessments.

 

Admissions Criteria
 

The course offer will be confirmed after you have accepted the course offer by the end of the acceptance period.

 

Application Results
 

Applicants may check their application outcome online through Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) portal on 6 Sep 2024, 2pm. 

 

Successful EAE applicants are to accept or reject their offers online by 11 Oct 2024, 11.59pm. A non-response will be deemed as a rejection of the EAE offer.

 

Once an applicant has accepted his/her EAE offer, he/she will not be eligible to take part in the JAE, JPAE and other polytechnic admissions exercise. He/she will also not be able to switch courses within or across polytechnic.

  • Academic results and/or interview/test where applicable and subject to the availability of vacancies.

Can I apply for admission while I am serving my NS in Singapore?

Yes, you may. The Polytechnic will reserve a place for successful male applicants who are unable to obtain approval to defer or be disrupted from their Singapore full-time National Service (NS) to join the current intake. Reservation of a place is only applicable to male Singaporeans and Singapore PRs who are required to serve NS and are admitted to a polytechnic course for the first time.

For your top few choices for JAE, you may wish to select those TP courses that you are passionate about and for which your net ELR2B2 aggregate score is less than or equal to the previous year’s highest aggregate score of the course or not too far above the highest score.

To maximise the likelihood of being posted to a course of your JAE choices, you should ensure that, for some of your selected courses, your net ELR2B2 aggregate score falls below the previous year’s highest aggregate scores of those courses.

Students who have completed Year 4 of the Integrated Programme (IP) in Singapore may apply through the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE-Local).

Students who have completed Year 6 of the Integrated Programme (IP) in Singapore and have obtained an IB Diploma may apply through the Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE-Local). Students with IB Diploma may also apply for selected diploma courses which allow them to complete the course in 2 or 2.5 years, provided they meet the entry requirements.
