Synopsis: Climate change is no longer a distant threat but an urgent reality that demands our attention and action. But what does it have to do with us, with you as youths, and what can we do?
In this forum, Dr. Winston Chow will delve into the pressing issue of climate change, exploring its profound implications for individuals, communities, and the planet at large – sharing insights on COP28, and Singapore’s role in fighting climate change.

About the speakers
Dr. Winston Chow is a Professor of Urban Climate and Lee Kong Chian Research Fellow based at Singapore Management University’s (SMU) College of Integrative Studies (CIS), and also the research pillar lead for urban infrastructure at SMU's Urban Institute. He is an interdisciplinary scholar who researches on urban aspects of climate change, and teaches climate change and sustainability at undergraduate, graduate and executive development levels. In 2023, he was elected as Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) Working Group II on Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability, and he will help lead the Seventh Assessment Cycle for the IPCC during a critical decade of global climate action.
Mr. Ramesh Kumar serves as a senior manager at Temasek Launchpad and board director at *SCAPE (MCCY). As the founder and Managing Director of Asmara® Singapore from 2018 to 2023, Ramesh's company has earned three awards. He has developed over 62 functional food products and guided more than 51 businesses. Since 2023, he has been mentoring startups at Temasek Launchpad, focusing on teaching innovation and entrepreneurship with a sustainability twist. Ramesh also serves as a v-Career Advisor for Sustainability at WSG, Young Leader at the World Cities Summit, and Mentor Partner at Enterprise Singapore.
