Course Overview

Introduces participants to the laws that govern and regulate companies in Singapore. The topics covered include the types of corporate and business entities allowed under Singapore law, the concept of incorporation, directors' duties, rights of members, meetings and resolutions, and liquidation and winding up.

 

 

Objectives

 

This subject aims to provide participants with a basic understanding of the laws governing companies in Singapore, including the key legal concepts in this area of law and the basic roles, rights and responsibilities of directors and members of companies.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Modes of Assessment

 

Coursework: 30%

Examination: 70%

 

 

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result, which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Legal Executive Studies.
