Course Overview

This subject provides participants with an awareness of the importance of HRM in an organisation. They will get an understanding of the various human resource management functions, the impact of effective HRM practices on organisational and employee performance and the role of line managers in HRM. Some of the topics are recruitment and selection, performance appraisal, training and development, the People Developer System and compensation management.

Application/Entry Requirement

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

What You'll Learn

The subject aims to equip students with basic knoeldge and skills to:

 

  • Examine various human resource management functions
  • Explore key issues which are important to understanding the human resource practices and learn how these impact the organisations

 

Modes of Assessment

 

The assessment would be based on coursework components such as tests and assignments.

 

Certification

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Business Practice (Business Administration).
